Insurance United Policyholders This Insurance Claim and Recovery Help library includes resources for the January 2025 Palisades Fire and Eaton Fire in Los Angeles County. United Policyholders is a non profit organization providing guidance and support to impacted households. Through our Roadmap to Recovery® program, you can access free, trustworthy help navigating the process of returning to a wildfire damaged area, repairing and replacing damaged and destroyed property, and collecting all available insurance funds. If your property is damaged or was destroyed, our guidance is here to help you get started on the road to recovery, make good decisions and keep moving forward. Legal Aid Public Counsel Public Counsel works with communities and clients to create a more just society through legal services, advocacy, and civil rights litigation. Resource Guides LA Region Community Recovery Organization (LARCRO) Resource Guide LARCRO has developed a simple, easy to navigate resource guide (click here - Resource Guide) to assist in identifying available services. The list is frequently updated, and it will lead you directly to the organizations that will partner with you on your sustainable long-term recovery. Better Angels Relief Navigator Better Angels has launched the LA Disaster Relief Navigator, an online tool to help Angelenos impacted by the wildfires effectively navigate the many resources potentially available to them. The solution is designed to help people navigate every aspect of fire relief, including applying for federal, state and local government assistance; making insurance claims; temporary and permanent housing solutions; income loss mitigation; and other critical services. The Navigator provides personalized action plan based on individual circumstances, making the recovery process immediately actionable and putting the community on a path to recovery. Housing and Furniture Rental Support Global Empowerment Mission provides rental support to qualifying households as they identify new housing options in the aftermath of the 2025 LA fires. This program offers first month’s rent, last month’s rent, and the security deposit. Repair and Environmental Cleanup Home Rehabilitation Habitat for Humanity is assisting impacted communities with home rehabilitation and smoke rehabilitation. Resources are allocated based on the specific needs of each household. Please note that applications are not a guarantee that requested support will be fulfilled. Apply for assistance by following this link. Smoke Remediation Collaborative Coalition A coalition of five recovery organizations offers several free remediation services: Remediation is decontamination from smoke, ash, and soot damage. Full remediation would include the interior structure of your home as well as your personal goods. This service does not remediate fire damaged structures. These services can include upholstery and rug cleaning depending on the type of damage. Click here to apply for smoke remediation support.. Cleanup and Repair Assistance The Hope Crisis Response Network offers services including smoke remediation and cleanup free of cost to those severely under-insured or no insurance at all. This service is only available for primary residences, not second homes or vacation properties. HCRN assists renters, see the terms by following the link. We are unable to clean your home until debris has been removed from your neighborhood. Click here to submit a request for assistance LA County Air, Soil, and Water Contamination Testing In response to the January 2025 wildfires, a collaborative task force of government agencies and academic partners was established to assess potential impacts on air, water, soil, and human health in Los Angeles County. Through ongoing monitoring efforts, the task force aims to track environmental changes, identify potential risks, and support actions that protect communities. A key component of this work is the Post-Fire Assessment Plan, which provides a comprehensive overview of planned, ongoing, and completed monitoring activities. The plan details the different monitoring activities being conducted, the organizations involved, and the locations and timeframes of these efforts. This website serves as the central hub for data, findings, and updates from the task force’s monitoring efforts. By making this information accessible to community members, researchers, and decision-makers, we aim to promote transparency, support informed decision-making, and provide critical insights into both immediate and long-term environmental conditions. Emotional Care NAMI Eaton Fire Peer Support Group NAMI San Gabriel Valley will begin to host monthly peer support groups for those affected by the Eaton Fire, offering a space for shared experiences and healing. Sessions will be held on Zoom every third Tuesday of the month from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM. As we approach six months since the devastating fire in the Altadena area, these gatherings will provide an opportunity to process ongoing challenges with understanding facilitators—many of whom have firsthand experience navigating similar hardships. Small Business Operation Hope Small Business Recovery Expo Operation Hope, in coordination with the Altadena Chamber of Commerce, will hose a Small Business Recovery Expo on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 11:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Altadena Library located at 600 E Mariposa St. Altadena, CA 91001, and will provide critical resources, actionable recovery guidance, and direct services to local entrepreneurs working to rebuild their businesses and restore their communities. Recover Local The Los Angeles County Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) is reaffirming its commitment to the region's economic recovery by announcing the launch of a countywide public awareness campaign, “Shop Local. Dine Local. Recover Local.,” to support small and micro businesses reeling from the economic impacts, such as losses to property, revenue, and customers in fire impacted communities. Local businesses in or near impacted areas can sign up at shoplocal.la to be included in the Recover Local Business Directory, an online list of highly-impacted businesses. Participating businesses will receive promotional support and direct access to critical resources, including marketing tools and help navigating available services.

Employment Opportunities CORE, Rebuilding Resource Hub Program Manager CORE is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Program Manager to lead the planning, operations, and programming of CORE’s Rebuilding Resource Hub supporting wildfire-affected communities in Los Angeles. This hub will serve as a central access point for residents to receive recovery support, construction guidance, digital tools, and long-term rebuilding technical assistance. The hub will host partners and service providers, and it will hold informational events on a regular basis. Community Events Eaton Fire Mural Unveiling On June 25, GEM unveiled a mural on the corner of Fair Oaks Avenue and Calaveras Street in Altadena, honoring relief efforts and community resiliency after the Eaton fire. Titled “Eaton Fire Heroes,” it appears on the scorched remains of a cement wall, what’s left standing of a burned-down Masonic temple in the area. “This was a community project for some closure and recognition of those fire victims and those who saved the lives of others,” said Baltazar Fedalizo, co-founder of the Pow Wow on Parade Foundation, a Pasadena-based nonprofit serving indigenous communities, that partially commissioned the mural.

Outreach Calls We would like to let you know that you may receive a call on behalf of the LA Region Community Recovery Organization www.laregionltrg.org to follow-up with you to discuss your current living situation and your thoughts toward your recovery journey and process. You probably remember us from the DRC (Disaster Recovery Center) or other resource events where we had a table and were doing intake for people who had been impacted by the fires. Please note: if you miss a call from an unknown/unfamiliar number, please check your voicemail for a message from the team. We might be able to provide you with some additional resources and information after we take some time to understand a bit more about your situation. The information we gather from you and from everyone we met will be immensely helpful - we can make referrals to our partners who may be able to help with long term recovery resources (materials, muscle, money). The call should take less than 30 minutes.
