2025 LA Fires Resource Special Edition Newsletter 10th Issue, 10/7/2025 Our Partners Support World Mental Health Day!
Community Members and Recovery Partners, As we observe World Mental Health Day on October 10th, this year’s theme — “Access to Services: Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies” — carries special meaning for our fire-impacted communities. This theme serves as a special reminder that mental health deserves the same care and attention as physical recovery. Taking care of your mental health, checking in on others, and reaching out for support when needed are all important steps toward healing. You are not alone, and help is always available. This year’s campaign highlights the urgent and ever important need to support the emotional and psychological well-being of people living through crises ~ to include those rebuilding after disasters right here in our local communities. Healing from a fire isn’t just about replacing what was lost, but is also about finding space to process, recover, and reconnect. Below you will find ongoing emotional and mental health resources, along with NEW resources, updates, and opportunities to support your recovery: Resources & Flyers: Please share these links and flyers with anyone who may benefit and encourage them to sign up for our newsletter for future updates. (LARCRO.org) Stay Connected: You can always check our website pages for the latest information: (click the links below) -Recovery Resources -Community Resource Guide -Upcoming Events -Past newsletters are also available online Survey Opportunity: A partner is collecting feedback through a brief 15-minute Furniture Replacement Survey. Some qualified respondents will receive a gift card for their time. (Please see details below.)
At the bottom of this email, you will see a graph showing common stages of emotional recovery. Wherever you are in your own journey, know that you are not alone. There is also a link to two stories of reslience that may provide hope as you navigate the recovery process. There are many recovery efforts underway. If you already have a Disaster Case Manager, stay in touch for updates and ongoing support. If you don’t and have requested a DCM, someone will reach out to you soon. Take time this week to care for your mental well-being and to check in on those around you. Healing takes time, but no one walks this path alone. With care and community, Los Angeles Region Community Recovery Organization

Community, resilience and hope are the common themes that surround and unite those impacted by major disaster events, whether we have been directly affected by disaster, have friends and family that have been affected, or worked during a disaster as first responders or recovery workers. By sharing stories of hope and recovery, Strength After Disaster highlights the resilience of individuals and communities while providing a resource for other survivors and responders that may be trying to cope and move forward themselves.
