The Los Angeles County Emergency Rent Relief Program applications close NEXT WEDNESDAY, March 11, 2026, at 4:59 p.m.

Tenants can apply through the online program portal. Tenants can also apply by phone through approved program partners.

Financial Workshops & Resources

In addition to the below, we want to make sure you are aware that Assembly Bill 238 was signed into law providing up to one year mortgage relief for victims of the January 7 firestorms. Step one is to contact you mortgage servicer and submit a written request for forbearance stating that you’re experiencing financial hardship due to wildfire disaster. News article here

LOS ANGELES COUNTY EMERGENCY RENT RELIEF PROGRAM

If you’re a landlord or tenant affected by the 2025 Eaton or Palisades fire and windstorm events or any other emergency financial hardships, you may be eligible for financial assistance.

Application Window
Applications for ROUND 2 of the Emergency Rent Relief Program is now open. The deadline to submit an application is Wedensday March 11, 2026 at 4:59 PM PST.

Habitat for Humanity Greater LA is offering several programs to survivors of the 2025 LA Wildfires. The Accelerator Fund is for homeowners affected by either the Pacific Palisades or Eaton Canyon wildfires. This opportunity is open to low to moderate income households demonstrating a specific financial barrier to the next steps. It provides grants of up to $10,000 to help homeowners overcome obstacles and move forward with their repair or rebuild process. Their 2025 Rebuild LA Disaster Response program is for wildfire survivors in need of home repair or rebuild assistance.  Their Appliance Replacement Grant is for those households affected by the wildfires that need assistance replacing essential appliances.

Submissions through any of the above links will be received by their ReBuild Navigation Team. If additional assistance is needed, applicants may schedule a one-on-one consultation with a ReBuild Navigation Manager or attend one of their office hour sessions:

As Los Angeles County communities continue the long recovery from devastating wildfires and straight-line winds, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) remains on the ground to assist survivors who have already applied for federal disaster assistance and need additional help navigating the process.

SBA Disaster Loan Outreach Centers (DLOCs) in Altadena and Pacific Palisades are providing in-person support for homeowners, renters, small businesses, and private nonprofit organizations with existing SBA disaster loan applications. SBA customer service representatives are available to help applicants/borrowers understand next steps in their loan process.

Those who prefer to schedule an in-person appointment in advance can do so here.

The application filing deadline for this disaster has passed. These centers are focused on assisting survivors who have already applied and require additional guidance to complete or move their application forward. On a case-by-case basis, new applications may be accepted due to extraordinary circumstances.

The LA County Chief Sustainability Office (CSO) has shared Food Base LA, the new L.A. County food system dashboard launched by USC and the newly created L.A. County Office of Food Systems.

The dashboard informs the development, implementation, and evaluation of interventions to promote food access, nutrition security, and sustainability.

Eaton Fire Peer Support Group

San Gabriel Valley hosts monthly peer support groups for those affected by the Eaton Fire, offering a space for shared experiences and healing. Held every third Tuesday of the month virtually via Zoom.

These gatherings will provide an opportunity to process ongoing challenges with understanding facilitators—many of whom have firsthand experience navigating similar hardships. Support group schedules may be adjusted based on interest and need.

Both centers will initially be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday, and their hours of operation will be adjusted as needed to meet community needs.

  • The McChrystal Group's After-Action Review of Alert Notification Systems and Evacuation Policies for the Eaton and Palisades Fires (133 pages, PDF) is available in full here

    An independent after-action review of alerts and evacuations has been completed by McChrystal Group, providing a comprehensive picture of actions taken during the catastrophic January wildfires along with recommendations to help guide future Los Angeles County responses.

    The unprecedented wind-whipped January wildfires claimed 31 lives and destroyed 16,251 properties in Altadena and Pacific Palisades, along with parts of Los Angeles, Pasadena, Sierra Madre and Malibu.
