The Los Angeles Region Community Recovery Organization is closely monitoring the 2019 novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and the precautions that governments, health organizations, businesses and other international non-governmental organizations continue to take to limit its spread and impact in a growing number of countries.

Our priority is always the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, partners and the people we serve. We are taking a proactive approach to minimize potential exposure to the virus while ensuring that our ongoing recovery efforts are affected as little as possible.

U.S. Small Business Administration

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is offering low-interest federal disaster loans for working capital to California small businesses suffering substantial economic injury as a result of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). For information about available SBA resources and services, visit SBA.gov/coronavirus.


Tax filing and payment relief

The Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service are providing special tax filing and payment relief to individuals and businesses in response to the COVID-19 Outbreak. The filing deadline for tax returns has been extended from April 15 to July 15, 2020. The IRS urges taxpayers who are owed a refund to file as quickly as possible. For those who can't file by the July 15, 2020 deadline, the IRS reminds individual taxpayers that everyone is eligible to request an extension to file their return. Learn more

    The Disaster Distress Helpline also answers calls and texts related to infectious disease outbreaks, such as the novel Coronavirus outbreak, and other traumatic events. The impact of crises may affect people in different ways. Learn how to recognize the warning signs and risk factors for emotional distress related to natural and human-caused disasters.

    The Disaster Distress Helpline is open to everyone.
